As you know the BMW GS Trophy 2017 event will be hosted from 4 to 7 May 2017 at Badplaas Forever Resort in Mpumalanga.
JB Train Tours are involved with Rail Tourism in Southern Africa and host more than 160 tours per annum. Please visit www.jbtours.co.za for more details.
One type of tour that they host (it is fairly unique in the world), is Motorbike-on-Train tours. Mainly departing from Jo’burg to: Western Cape & Boland; Garden Route; Namaqualand Flowers; Buff Rally in Mossel Bay: Namibia; Route 62; ‘Stofpad’ in the Karoo; Africa Bike Week in East London; etc.
Due to the request of bikers in the Southern and Eastern regions they’ve organised two Motorbike-on-Train tours to the BMW GS Trophy 2017 event in Badplaas, departing from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth respectively.
These tours have been organised with the consent of the 2017 Trophy organisers. I.e.: Creating a means of traveling to the 2017 BMW GS Trophy event in a safe, comfortable, affordable and ‘lekker’ manner. Bikers will still have ample opportunity to ride lots of km’s at the event as well as en route.
Download attached documents for more details of the respective tours. Bookings for the 2017 Trophy open on the 16th January 2017. Train tour costs include Hotel Accommodation in Badplaas (not camping).
The inaugural Garden Route BMW Motorrad Club 15 Passes Challenge held on Saturday 26 November turned out to be a respectable challenge for the riders of off road adventure bikes. 18 Riders, divided into two groups, left just after 8. Navigation was the biggest challenge with riders getting lost from time to time. The watchful eye of the club guides ensured no one strayed too far. Other minor incidents along the way were effectively dealt with.
Brunch at Angies proved a highlight and well deserved rest. At the end of the day 16 Certificates of Achievement were handed out to the weary and dusty participants who had successfully completed the route. All participants felt suitably challenged and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you to everyone and congratulations to all. We can’t wait for the first 15 Passes Challenge of 2017 which will include improvements and new challenges.
